KENTWOOD PRIDE DAY

As in past years the City of Kentwood will be sponsoring 'Kentwood Pride Day' to assist neighborhoods and citizens to keep their community clean. There will be one central drop-off location at the Kentwood Recycling Center, 5068 Breton Avenue as opposed to the multiple locations utilized in the past.
This event is limited to Kentwood residents. Anyone bringing items for disposal will be asked to provide a driver's license or other proof of Kentwood residence. The event will also be strictly limited to the hours of 9 AM until 3 PM. Items will not be allowed before or after those hours, as the dumpsters will be delivered and taken away at those times. Please respect these restrictions so we can continue to provide this positive service to all residents.
While we will allow trash and most 'junk' that residents are looking to dispose of including APPLIANCES, there are many items that cannot be accepted due to landfill restrictions or other reasons. The following items are not allowed for disposal:
-Yard waste (leaves, grass clippings, twigs and branches) will not be accepted. The City does operate a
'leaf-only' disposal area in the Fall, but leaves and other yard waste will not be accepted on May 1st as yard waste cannot be disposed of with the other materials in the landfill. Residents can contract with your local waste hauler for this service.
- Kent County will be on hand to accept household hazardous waste collection program to dispose of these materials. They will not be accepting computers or latex paint. Further information may be obtained by calling 336-2501.
- The Salvation Army will also be on hand to accept donations.
Residents are asked to enter the drive off Breton Avenue, where volunteers will be checking for residence and approved items for disposal.
