With this correction, a motion was made by Gerry Noorman with support from Dick Cunningham to approve the November 2013 Historic Preservation Commission minutes.
--Motion Carried.
It was acknowledged that there are not enough members to constitute a quorum but the commission will take action next month to affirm the actions taken in November.

  1. Heritage Room Update
Gerry said that several people have been in and she has been very busy. She said that a woman had come in who said she had 4000 pictures from the reconstruction of Kalamazoo Avenue. She appeared to want advice as to how to preserve the pictures. The group suggested that the pictures are scanned and stored on CDs or preferably on a flash drive. The HPC might have an interest in some of the pictures.

Gerry also said that a woman came in with pictures from her wedding that was held in the former YWCA building located on Eastern Avenue. The pictures are of the interior. The building was a stone building and had a stone fence along Eastern Avenue. Some of the stone fence still exists.

Gerry received some books that we may have an interest in keeping. We can look through them and decide whether to keep them or not.

  1. WKTV Website
Esther has been contacted by Janice Limbaugh at WKTV.  They are starting a hyper-local news website for the cities of Wyoming and Kentwood.  She asked Esther for an article and pictures on Kentwood, which Esther has provided.  Janice liked what Esther provided and this information would be posed soon on the WKTV website.  In order to keep the information fresh, WKTV would like new articles to post possible every month, 200-500 words.  Esther said anyone who has an interest in writing an article can do so.  Esther would edit the article.
