Present: Chairperson: Michael W. Brown, Richard Clanton, Ray VerWys and Mayor Richard L. Root. Also present: Commissioners Sharon Brinks, Frank Cummings, City Clerk Dan Kasunic, City Engineer Steve Kepley, Resident Steve Schroeder and Public Works Director Ron Woods. Also present: John Halland and several residents from the adjoining condo development.

REQUEST FOR MULTIPLE DETENTION PONDS FOR KATHRYN WOODS DEVELOPMENT BY JOHN HALLAND.
Assistant City Engineer Bradshaw reviewed the project and explained staff recommendation for a single detention pond. The Developer gave a brief history of the project including the proposed changes for the access drive. He then suggested options for the development and what could happen. The Committee discussed the options, problems of maintenance and constraints of zoning and safety ordinances. A few residents spoke against the two ponds.
Motion by Root, supported by Clanton, to deny the request by the developer for multiple detention ponds.
Motion Carried.

INVERSION LINING OF SANITARY LATERALS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS.
Public Works Director Woods explained the work needed, noting this specific work is to be less intrusive for the residents and more cost effective.
Motion by VerWys, seconded by Clanton, to recommend to the City Commission to authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with Young’s Environmental Cleanup, Inc. for the cleaning and lining of 39 sanitary laterals at a not to exceed cost of $261,300.00 (including a 10% contingency) with funds from the Sewer Fund.
Motion Carried.
