City of Kentwood Economic Development Office
The Economic Development Office coordinates and implements the economic development services offered by the City of Kentwood, including the following:
- Makes contact with the business community through business retention and expansion calls, coordinating with Right Place, Inc. and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC)
- Provides information on state economic development programs that affect the Kentwood business community.
- Reviews and approves loans to businesses through the Kentwood Economic Development Corporation.
- Provides information to city officials regarding economic development issues affecting the City.
- Provides assistance to businesses for programs such as Public Act 198 tax abatements and renaissance zones.
- Prepares marketing materials for the City.
- Provides city officials with feedback from the business community through the annual Business Forum.
- Provides staff support for the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority.
