Online Tax Information and Payment System

Property taxes are collected twice per year in the City of Kentwood.

The summer tax bill is due and payable without penalty from July 1 to August 20. The summer bill includes all City, Kent Intermediate School District, and Grand Rapids Community College taxes, as well as half of the school district tax and state education tax.

The winter tax bill is due and payable without penalty from December 1 through February 14. It includes all of the Kent County tax as well as the second half of the school and state education tax.

All payments must be received in the Treasurer's Office by 5:00pm on the final due date - POSTMARKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

The Kentwood City Treasurer's Office is open to the public to collect tax payments, Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. If you choose to pay by way of mail, be sure to allow ample time for mail delivery. You may also pay your bills over the internet with your credit card.

Summer tax deferments are offered to senior citizens, certain veterans, and handicapped individuals that have a household income less than $25,000. If deferred, the summer tax comes due at the same time as the winter tax. The purpose of the deferment is to allow the taxpayer to file for a Homestead Credit from the State of Michigan and use the refund to help pay for the taxes. Contact the Treasurer's Office for more information and the necessary forms.

When calling the Treasurer's Office with questions regarding your taxes, please have your permanent parcel number ready. This is the twelve (12) digit number beginning with 41- located on your tax bill.
